Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 27,800 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential areas close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality has a well-developed cultural and association life as well as good conditions for outdoor activities and recreation. The municipality's vision is to reach 35,000 inhabitants by 2035. Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region's municipal federation, which is a forum for cooperation and exchange of experiences, as well as several other inter-municipal collaborations.

The youth activities are based on young people's interests, working from a promoting perspective and being where young people are: in schools, at youth centers, in public spaces, and on social media. The activities run two youth centers, targeting youth aged 13-18 years. In RUM1 at the Fregatten Cultural Center, there is a project office and creativity space for youth aged 13-25 years. The skate park is an open meeting place for all ages, and during the summer, a skate school is conducted by the organization. The activities also provide leisure care for high school students according to LSS.

Job Responsibilities

As a Youth Consultant with us, you will lead and stimulate young people to become co-creators of their own leisure time and support their personal and social development. This occurs in both open and group activities, projects, events, and camps. The work involves planning, implementation, and documentation of the activities.

• You will help develop the work so that the youth centers continue to be safe and attractive meeting places.
• You will meet young people with a coaching approach to support their ideas and projects and guide them towards meaningful leisure and cultural life.
• You will work to strengthen young people's participation and influence in societal debates, both locally, nationally, and through international youth exchanges.
• You will be part of various networks and participate in both large and small events as well as holiday activities.
• Collaboration with other actors such as the police, schools, other administrations and municipalities, associations, and the non-profit sector is an important part of the assignment.

As a person, you are interested in young people's living conditions, knowledgeable about cultural backgrounds, and aware of young people's place in society. You are independent, creative, and solution-oriented. In your work, you build relationships and are flexible. You express yourself well in both speech and writing. You enjoy collaborating both within your own workgroup and with external contacts. You have experience in project management and long-term processes. You have the ability to structure, organize, and analyze. You possess high digital competence and view social media as a natural platform for communication.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who possesses these qualities and has several years of experience working with young people. Relevant education equivalent to leisure leader, social pedagogue, social worker, health scientist, teacher, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer is required for the assignment. Personal suitability is highly valued. You have good administrative skills in the Office package. Experience in projects and project management is an advantage. Practical and theoretical expertise that can be applied in the organization is also advantageous. We are members of the Keks network, using ELD as a method to highlight non-formal learning.
